Edmund Xu (许勐) is currently a fourth-year undergraduate student at Emory University, where he is studying Political Science and Chinese. He is also currently an intern at The Carter Center’s China Program.
Edmund has interned for his state legislator, where he prepared research on California’s high-speed rail project, and Emory’s Sustainability office, where he developed an interest in sustainability issues. Edmund has since worked in Volunteer Emory as a staff member, where he helped organize campus-wide service days on top of leading his own weekly service trip to a local community garden, and currently volunteers with the Center for Pan-Asian Community Services by tutoring immigrants on how to pass the U.S. Citizenship Test. In addition to his interest in sustainability and service, he is also concerned with political and international issues, particularly in regards to U.S.-China relations. He studied abroad in China during the summer of 2014, and has pursued an academic interest in the field while at Emory.
